So again I read an article about incels, i.e. men who can’t find a girl to pick up (involuntary celibate). I’m tired of their whining. Everybody’s been an incel. Or almost everyone. Do you think I wasn’t the shy, bespectacled intellectual who envied the smarter guys when I was 18?

Men just have to work on themselves. Some men get rich, some men get good looks, some men score points for solidity and reliability, and some men learn to tell women what they want to hear. It’s not for nothing that male sexual attractiveness peaks around 40. And if anyone’s having trouble learning, there are courses for that. There are no ugly men, only uninteresting ones.

Of course, purely biologically, the way it works is that the vast majority of women focus on the few most attractive men.

Of course, purely biologically, the way it works is that the vast majority of women focus on the few most attractive men. In a student group, it can then turn out that a few of the biggest guys get most of their female classmates into bed, while others don’t get laid. But in later life, it’s different.Despite all the emancipation, there are plenty of women who don’t want to be alone with a chick every night and hope that one night a year she’ll be free in the best guy’s bed. All it would take is someone honest, solid, who doesn’t want to be preyed on, isn’t an alcoholic, uses deodorant, and is able to feign a little romantic interest (and if that once-a-year spot in that guy’s bed were to open up, some of them could make it as married women). Conversely, some men have to put up with the fact that Anna Netrebko won’t become their mistress, but that doesn’t mean he can’t lead a fairly happy life with an unpretty woman. But is it worth the effort? That’s the real question.

It’s absolutely deadly, then, when incels create subcultures and reinforce each other’s whining. I’m almost wondering if it should be criminal (hyperbole). Or if there shouldn’t be an optional class on Girl Picking Techniques in high school. It would certainly reduce the number of school massacres more than restricting guns.
