For balance, I also read liberal commentary on Trump’s ascendancy. I don’t mean the intellectual garbage we get in big media, but the voices that associate liberal bigotry with high intelligence and a decent education. It opens up a different understanding.

There is a cry out there at the moment that when Elon Musk stopped funding USAID, it is not just political non-profits that are losing money, but projects that save lives, provide access to drinking water, cure deadly diseases, etc., are also being stopped.

Logically, a solution would be offered: Let’s work together for a while. Let’s find those few useful non-political things together and then we can fight over the political. But neither side is capable of doing that because they have learned not to talk to each other. If you call your opponent Hitler, believe it, and have no problems with his eventual assassination, you usually can’t sit down at the table next to him and work together. While there are telephone lines of generals and secret services between America, China and Russia, there are no such lines between the parties to the class conflict.

If a deadly threat emerges that requires the cooperation of all Americans, they will perish. By the way, it probably wouldn’t be any better in our country.

Curtis Yarvin argues that one of J. D. Vance’s strengths is his ability to speak to urban intellectuals. We’ll see.
