Goodbye, Western rationality, era of science, technology and medical advances… An era is coming in which facts do not play a role and cause and effect are not related.

What makes us different from the rest of the world? Thanks to rationality as a fundamental way of thinking, for two hundred years the West has been making enormous advances in technology, medicine and the natural sciences. As a result, we live in prosperity and health care that other civilizations can only dream of.

No Allah’s will or evil voodoo…

Rational thinking means understanding that every thing has a real cause and also causes predescribable consequences. We can analyze previous failures and plan successful solutions. We know that work builds wealth. Don’t laugh, it’s not a given! We see it every day on the world news.

But other types of thinking have not disappeared. With the rise of the media, the internet and globalisation, they are coming to the surface like mould in a cellar that has been disinfected a hundred times.

Ideological thinking that denies the laws of nature has swept across the West in the form of, for example, or green communism. The insane ‘measures against global climate change’ are mostly the utterly irrational creations of a sect that lacks basic education in physics, mathematics and science, but is eager to dictate its unrealistic visions of a better future to everyone.

Magical thinking, in turn, produces thousands of couch potato experts who have “encompassed” in five minutes all the knowledge of highly specialized fields of science that have been studied for years. These disgraced geniuses have “uncovered” either the conspiracy or the stupidity of the experts and created a sort of parallel reality that deals with no facts but only the wishes of the creator.

These people used to be a perfectly harmless fringe of society. Quislings, mashballs, snivelers, pub talkers. Those particularly stubborn “reformers” were then considered municipal fools or caught a few slaps.

But then something happened. A coincidence! Along came the internet and the global media. And with it came an obsession with individualism and individual rights, out of all proportion. This lethal combination started the disintegration of society. A rebellion of fools.

The Internet has become an amplifier of mediocrity and has created an aggressive Digital Moloch out of a crowd of mediocrities with enormous power to FINALLY GET IT TO THE SMART AND SUCCESSFUL who think they understand things because they have studied, created, achieved something.

We completely misconstrue the conspiracy of fools by explaining away their lack of education, their lack of understanding of the basic principles of physics, chemistry, biology, and their unnecessary planning of “critical thinking courses”. Wrong. These people have CONSCIOUSLY REJECTED all of this. They have rejected two hundred years of Enlightenment rationality, tearing down the old world of science, invention and progress in the name of humanity.

They have rejected two hundred years of Enlightenment rationality, tearing down the old world of science, invention and progress in the name of humanity.

Why? Because it is too complex for them. Because it’s becoming more and more difficult to understand. And because it’s hard to do without! You don’t have to know anything, you don’t have to work, you just have to shout loud enough and a society that has grown rich through hard work and rationality will give it to you. For these people, raised in affluence, the safety of their own emotions is more important than any facts.

Is it possible for a civilization to survive if it consciously discards complex rationality and exchanges it for simple expedient lies and ideologies? Maybe for a while. But it will be an ideologically committed survival in poverty, cold and misery. It’s closer than we think. And it’s up to us if we want to and can stop it.
