There is talk that the United States is no longer supporting Europe, that Europe remains helpless and that it will find it difficult to cope. But that is not the case, and it never has been. Just more bullshit.
The reality is that for the last generation, most European politicians have promoted activities that have been harmful, even disastrous, for their countries. They pursued those activities in the mistaken belief that it would please the Americans. In fact, they have only curried favour with a section of the American power elite – the section that was swept away by the recent revolution. Now they are discovering that most Americans don’t care at all. Not at all. Not even marginally. Regardless of how much we like or dislike Trump’s communication style, it is certain that his actions have mass support in America. No one wants to spend more money on a war between two kinds of Russians. No one wants to support neo-Nazi troops in Ukraine. And that American boys should even die because of it is beyond imagination.
European politicians could take a breath and start looking after the interests of their own countries. They would not need any American support to do so. They just aren’t capable of it.
The problem in this case is not interests, but mob emotion. The European minions abandoned by the Empire feel betrayed. They’ve tried so hard! They have let their own countries be plundered. When the Americans bugged their statesmen, they let it happen. When they launched a terrorist attack on a vital pipeline, they thanked them. They destroyed their own defenses so they could buy piles of American scrap.
That’s the real problem. Abandoned lackeys with no one to serve and no one to humiliate themselves in front of. Now they are in hysterics and attempting a theatrical gesture of defiance. We don’t need anyone! We’re on our own!
