In an article on Unherd, Sussex philosophy professor Kathleen Stock recalls that until a couple of decades ago, quite acrimonious debates were held in lecture halls, with the aim of exposing the opponent as committing a logical or other error. But such debates have all but disappeared. The “aggressive tone” is totally unacceptable. They say it would be a sign of male culture. I mean, the professor thinks that even female philosophy students can be pretty sharp, but she probably doesn’t know as much about it as professional female activists.

So the aggression is hidden in intrigue and insidious accusations of political incorrectness.

So the aggression is hidden in intrigue and insidious accusations of political incorrectness. And one more thing. If things can’t be said sharply and directly, in many cases we don’t get to the bottom of it and learn the truth. Which is not terrible in philosophy, but a disaster in other disciplines.

Notice that the more cowardly these people are, the less they can take, the more bloodthirsty they get about other people and other countries. They are currently living through a Russian civil war, which they are determined to wage to the last Ukrainian and the destruction of the last cunt of Ukrainian land. No compromise is out of the question. Blood! Blood! More blood! Just make sure that someone in the audience doesn’t speak too loudly to them. They’d need therapy.
