Jews versus Israelis

“The vast majority of Israelis prayed for President Trump’s victory and stood spiritually and physically alongside his family as he took the oath of office. The moment has deep resonance not only for Israelis but for Jewish communities around the world,” writes a Jerusalem Post columnist, and research backs him up. Most Israelis have their fingers crossed for Trump.

Not so American Jews. According to Pew Research, nearly 90% of American Jews voted for Harris. Other agencies estimate that Harris got just over 60% of the Jewish vote, and in general, precincts with strong Jewish populations were more Trumpian this time than last time. Yet in all the surveys, we run into the same problem – we don’t know who checked the Jewish religion or ethnicity box on the questionnaire or phone interview.

In any case, the Israeli population is morally and politically different from the Jewish community in the US. When you live in your own country, on your own piece of land, when you defend it, when you run your own agriculture and manufacturing factories… it forms a very different character than when you live in a foreign country, make a living from banking speculation, and are always ready to move elsewhere for greater profits.

So again, I return to my objection to the race theory, which assumes that you can directly infer behavior from genes. The same genetic combination can lead to vastly different results depending on the environment in which those people live. It is reasonable, then, to strive for an environment where good characters are formed.
