Some are angry that Czech President Petr Pavel said at the Munich conference that if the Americans don’t want to go to war against Russia, we will fight it ourselves.

I fear there is a misunderstanding behind this. After all, in the President’s case, it is not what he says, but HOW he says it.

  • What shade of suit he wears
  • How his tie fits.
  • His posture.
  • How sexy his voice is.
  • How his beard is trimmed

…but most importantly, the overall impression, which includes the impression of a president on stamps, a president on a motorcycle, a president on a parachute, a president chopping wood.

I don’t write that as sarcasm. That is the real mission of the current Czech president. Just as Donald Trump was sent by his constituents to carry out a political coup (in their language it’s called “drain the swamp”), Petr Pavel was sent by his constituents to look good. They did not elect a philosopher president or a strategist president. His job is to be handsome and he does it well.

And they seem to be quite happy with him. When voters and donors are happy, everything works right.

Those of us who have different ideas about the role of the president are in the minority in power and numbers, and we need to respect that. There is certainly no point in getting upset.

Although President Čvančarová (a Czech actress with huge breasts) would have been even better suited.
