Repression against the AfD is gathering pace in Germany, which comes as no surprise. No government can tolerate someone who openly opposes it. The AfD is in the unfortunate position of enjoying a high level of popular support, but apparently lacking the tacit support of the wealthy, business circles, security forces and networks of contacts. It lacks real power.
In fact, it is surprising that it took so long for the ruling oligarchy to take action.
What is frightening, however, is the justification for this move. Because such a justification is not meant for the masses. The masses are powerless and their opinion does not matter. Whether they believe the government’s propaganda or not is irrelevant. The justification is for other members of the elite. That is what holds the elite together. If even its own members lost faith in the regime, it would collapse.
So what is the justification that the members of the elite want to hear? The AfD is the enemy of the Muslim community! That’s enough. Nothing else is needed to justify the spectacular abolition of basic democratic principles. It almost looks like the beginning of the British scenario, when the educated and wealthy white elite established the rule of Islam. All the Muslims had to do was watch.
