Young people are not interested in jobs as bosses, writes the Czech edition of Forbes, and HR experts have been saying the same thing for a long time. It’s just one of those seemingly small things that changes the balance of power.

If someone doesn’t want to be promoted, they don’t have to go to parades. They don’t have to put a stupid ‘friend of the LGBT community’ sticker on their desk or a Ukrainian flag on their desk. They don’t have to shout the right opinions on social media to get noticed by HR. He may not feel proud to be invited to a training session on minority rights and threats to the planet, but he may feel bruised. Or he may even turn it down.

In short, you have much less leverage over people who don’t want to come up.

And this change comes after a generation of liberal politics based on herd mentality. If you want to be one of the people who have a chance, you have to think this, feel this, believe this, act this. Now you have a generation that has been given that opportunity and doesn’t care about that opportunity.

The gender gap is already visible in other countries, and I think it will be no different in the Czech Republic. Submissive girls have boss ambitions, which is what they are expected to do. Boys couldn’t care less. But the one evolutionary-biological mechanism that caused this will also cause girls to conform to boys.
